A dog infected with rabies had bitten dozens...

A number of media reported earlier this week that a dog showing symptoms of rabies had attacked and bitten at least 50 people in the neighboring district of Vykhino.

"The dog has been caught and diagnosed with rabies," the source said.

The district administration said on its website that all people who sought medical help after stray dog attacks have been vaccinated against the disease, without giving the exact number of those bitten.

It said 118 stray dogs have been caught in the area in December, all of them are being tested for rabies. Five free anti-rabies vaccination facilities for pets have been opened in the district following the reports.
