Canadian curlers, who won the bronze during the 2006 games in Turin, took the silver this year.
Canada had a 6-4 lead in the final round, but a mistake by skip Cheryl Bernard allowed Sweden to equal the score and take the match into an extra end. Despite having the final shot advantage, the Canadian team lost 6-7.
The bronze went to current world champion China after the Swiss team conceded in the eighth end with a crushing score of 12:6.
